The City-state of Konei

The City-state of Konei (also known as Konei) is a a member of the League of Gnollish Cities, a loose alliance of nations in north western Eyom which loosly function as part of a greater whole. Its predominantly Gnollish citizens live within its 22,567 km², and primarily speak Zräysian.

Government and Politics

As with all of the gnollish city states, the City-state of Konei is ruled by a King or Queen. In Konei, the sovereign is the most skilled mage of their generation, and supported by a group of magically-empowered enforcers.

The ruling class of Konei are members of a hereditary nobility, and old-wealth families who while not necessarily titled, have vast treasuries, with few exceptions. Their authority is precarious, its authority questioned by some, due to their current greatest asset, their diplomats' awe inspiring cunning. The largest issue currently facing Konei is foreign powers are stirring up and backing a group of malcontents.

Millitary

The City-state of Konei's millitary is average for Eyom with a few boons and banes. It favors an infantry heavy millitary composision, with little in the way of armored calvery. It has a small fleet of airships which serve as forward operating bases and little else. Konei's millitary uses a balnce of arcane and technological based systems.

The millitary favors a doctrine of first strike in its millitary operations, but is willing and able to use others should the need arise. Konei's armed forces are a mixture of volenteer specilists and constructs, which generaly view themselves as a caste of warriors appart from civilians who serve as Konei's shield, by remaining ever ready for war.
