The Lallalan City-state

The Lallalan City-state (also known as Lallalo) is a a member of the League of Gnollish Cities, a loose alliance of nations in north western Eyom which loosly function as part of a greater whole. Its predominantly Gnollish citizens live within its 117,927 km², and primarily speak Zräysian.

Government and Politics

As with all of the gnollish city states, the Lallalan City-state is ruled by a King or Queen. In Lallalo, the sovereign is appointed by the church from a list of candidates, and supported by a group affectionately and fearfully called "the brute squad". ^ ^ The ruling class of Lallalo are members of a hereditary nobility, and old-wealth families who while not necessarily titled, have vast treasuries, with few exceptions. Their authority is has significant problems, but it functions, due to their current greatest asset, an expert spymaster serves it well. The largest issue currently facing Lallalo is the previous sovereign^'s incompetence is still damaging Lallalo.

The current soverign of the Lallalan City-state is [ruler name]. They have a small number of strong ties with certain allies within Lallalo's government, but are not broadly supported.

Millitary

The Lallalan City-state's millitary is ahead of the curve for Eyom, with few problems and a few serious advantages. It favors a mixture of armored calvory and special forces, leaving its infantry as a rear guard. Lallalo uses airships in the conventional fashion, as troop transport and commandposts, but has been known to attempt to develop air-based artillery platforms from time to time. Lallalo's armed forces eschew technological options wherever possible.

The millitary favors a doctrine of shock and awe in its millitary operations, but is willing and able to use others should the need arise. Lallalo's armed forces are a fully conscripted force kept in line by an officer's corpse, which generaly view themselves as warriors for justice who work to expand their nation's reach, by enforcing the will of the state.
